Xperio UV

Your one choice for Polarized lenses.

What is Xperio UV?

Xperio UV is a combination of an Essilor, Varilux or KBCO Polarized lens and Xperio UV back-side non-glare option.  For a lens to be defined as Xperio UV, you must pair both the lens and the non-glare option, you can’t have one without the other.

Examples of Xperio UV lenses are:

  • Varilux Comfort® Polarized Polycarbonate with Xperio UV
  • Definity®  Polarized Plastic with Xperio UV
  • Varilux S Design Polarized Polycarbonate with Xperio UV
  • Smallfit Digital Polarized Plastic
  • Single Vision Polarized 1.67 High Index with Xperio UV
  • ST-28 Polarized Plastic with Xperio UV

On non-Progressive lenses such as Single Vision, Bifocals and Trifocals, KBCO is our primary Polarized supplier of these lenses so you’ll automatically receive a KBCO product.

Examples of lenses that are NOT Xperio UV lenses are:

  • Varilux Comfort Polarized Polycarbonate no Xperio UV
  • Younger Image Polarized Plastic with Xperio UV
  • VE Illumina Polarized Polycarbonate no Xperio UV

Remember, you have to have both the lens and the Xperio non-glare option, you can’t have one without the other.  Additionally, if you specifically request a Polarized manufacturer other than Varilux, Essilor or KBCO, the lenses will not be Xperio UV.  We hope you have a much better idea of exactly what Xperio UV is.

The Benefits of Xperio UV

Xperio UV are your one choice for Polarized lenses.

Xperio UV Polarized offer the following benefits:

Sunglasses that are easy to clean.

The ability to easily clean sun lenses is determined by the contact angle of the lens surface.  A higher contact angle means that the lens better repels water and oil so that the substances simply roll off of the lens.

Sun Lenses that are scratch resistant.

Sunglasses can take a beating whether it’s work or play.  Your patient’s may not always be as careful as they should be with them.  To keep seeing clearly, the lenses must be resistant to scratches, scrapes and scuffs encounted along the way.

Sun Lenses that protect your eyes.

Not all sunglasses offer the same level of UV protection.  Simply wearing dark lenses does not guarantee complete UV protection.  Eye Care Professionals recommend wearing Polarized lenses that provide maximum protection from UV radiation that strikes both the front and back of the lens.  To get the most protection, use a lens with the maximum E-SPF®* index of 50+.
